Funny things the kids say

Carter and Katy always have interesting dialogue and it's so fun to listen in.  Steve and I are going on a Couple's Retreat this weekend so we told the kids it's to learn how to be a better husband/wife.  That sparked this conversation:

Carter: Katy is going to pick my wife.
Katy: Yeah, I will pick a girl from another family for Carter.  I will marry a boy from another family, not a girl!

We have told Carter that only God knows the woman he will marry but we can pray for a girl that loves the Lord.  He insists that his sister will be the one to choose.

At the park today we brought lots of sand toys and no one else had any so I told the kids that they could not hoard their stuff but had to offer it to the other kids.  Well as we were about the leave Carter walks by these older girls playing with bugs and says "Would you like to use my bucket?"  I thought oh great now he offers it as we are leaving.  Then I hear them say "yes". Well then he proceeds to tell them that we are leaving so they can't have it.  Now was he dangling a carrot in front of them or just plain clueless?  Who knows what little boys are thinking?  The moms all got a good laugh and thought it was sweet of him to offer it though, and I was of course embarrassed but had to chuckle too.

Our Stage for our little Stars

Our fireplace is not structurally sound so we can't use it but the kids did find another use.  They started dancing and singing using some kitchen utensils and Katy's favorite is an empty pepper grinder.  I did take a video of it but there was an error when I tried to post it.

Pictures of our new home

Here are some pictures of the inside of the house.  For some reason it would not let me upload the rest of them so this is what I could do so far.

It's been a while...

Well, we are finally moved and it is great to be in our "new" home.  Thank you for everyone who has prayed for the right home for a year now.  It was last April that we first had our realtor out to take pictures of our condo and put it on the market.  It has been a long time waiting but the Lord had just the right house at the right time to meet our needs.  Thanks to my parents who helped pack us and move us, and all my great friends who helped with the kids it was pretty smooth.  If you ever move Valencia Movers are awesome to work with.  I don't have any pictures yet as I am never quite happy with how the boxes look as part of our decor, but I will try to humble myself and post some this week.

The kids are adjusting well but Carter has bad allergies and our lemon tree is causing his eyes to swell up so we are keeping him pumped with medication to be more comfortable.  He also misses the condo and asks to go back which is sweet because that's all he has ever known and although it was small it was home for 5 years and we loved it!

On a funny note and well sad for the victim Carter had an "issue" with at Preschool this week. The teacher told me he bit someone.  Well, we have experienced a lot of reports but not this one yet.  I asked him why he would bite someone and he said they were playing crocodile!  It made perfect sense to him but we reminded him that we only pretend to nibble when we are animals.

Katy was working so hard playing she couldn't make it through dinner

It doesn't happen much so Steve moved her to the couch
with him and enjoyed these times that won't last much longer.

Carter Funnies

As some may know I have another sinus infection and am pregnant among other busy things in our lives and we ended up at Wal-Mart this morning because we really needed some stuff.  Well as the checker was finishing up Carter and Katy were trying to help put the bags in the cart and Carter looked at me and said "Mom are you tired?".  I looked at the checker and the lady behind me and said "That's a perpetual issue with me!"   We all laughed!  Shopping is hard work and it should make everyone involved tired and hungry!  I must add the children were very patient and friendly and did their best to make it easier for me while shopping.

Nannie and Papa Came to Visit

We had a great time with Nannie and Papa for the weekend.  Papa and Steve were busy doing repairs on the condo before we move and "the girls" went to the mall.
