Faith Kids field trip to a Music store

We had a fun time at Cassell's Music store in the San Fernando Valley. A guy from our church owns it and has given field trips for 18 years. He started off by reading from the Psalms and showed us a flute that David would have played as a shepherd boy, a ram's horn, and many other modern and not so usual instruments. Probably one of the best varieties around as instruments go. Personally this hot pink glitter guitar was top on my wish list for Katy. And the ram's horn would have been perfect for Carter since that's what was in Prince Caspian.
You also just gotta love the ads painted on the window. They were just too funny to pass up.

Park Day

We met Shonna and Malachi at the park today and it was beautiful. The kids faces were bright red after it.
Isn't this little guy handsome!
Katy and Carter met these 2 boys and had a blast doing the slide train. You could hear them giggling in the tunnel all the way down and no one got hurt which is even better.
notice the static in Katy's hair

Ordinary Thursday but memories are made

For those that know Katy it is quite shocking that she posed for Mommy this morning.  She does NOT like to have her picture taken (those at Faith Kids know that well!)
I love you Katy Joy!
Jack likes to poke Carter but what do you expect when you plant your head right in the lap of an 8 month old baby.  It's so sweet to see these boys interact.  They adore each other.

Jack our sweet baby is happy again!

Jack is finally feeling better besides teething and he is such a sweet guy that loves to cuddle and be with his mama.  The pictures of him with his blue shirt were just before I put him down for his nap.  He is enjoying things from the sitting position now, but falls over a lot.

Thank you for this state...America

Tonight at dinner Katy asked to pray.  "Thank you Lord for the sun, moon, stars, and for this food, and thank you for the flowers and the world and for this state America Amen."  One of my favorite parts of the day is listening to them pray.  Katy has been sick with the flu so hopefully it will stay down =).

Every girl needs her jeans

maybe it's just me but I thought this picture was so cute.  little girls with pig tails and jeans are so cute...and it's my little girl so it makes it even cuter.

Happy Valentine's Day!

1 John 3:16 "By this we know Love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.

What a selfless love the Lord calls us to. Did you have expectations for V-day? Did it turn out like you desired? Did you seek to serve those around you and love without expecting anything in return. How often I forget what it is to love like Christ does.

I am thankful today for a husband that does love me like Christ. In my worst his love is steadfast and hopeful. He is patient and kind and seeks to sacrifice for me daily. He loves me even when I am unlovable (I'm sure that's not very often=). Thank you sweetheart for marrying me and seeking to purify me with the Word.

Vasquez Rocks and Freezing...Brrrr

Today we headed over to meet Marie Clark and her kids at Vasquez Rocks in Agua Dulce.  This is one of the kids favorite spots and one of their favorite other Moms.  We got there just in time to climb and play before it rained and snowed.  Here are some shots of the day.

Our snowy mountains...not such a rare sight this winter

Sickness and a visit with Nannie and Papa

Stomach virus has attacked Jack and I.  I am better much sooner but poor Jack is on day 5 and so lots of laundry and lots of loves for our boy.  Nannie and Papa were already scheduled for a visit so it was by God's grace that Nannie was able to care for Jack while I was in bed trying to stay warm and keep my stomach from hurling.  Flashback of pregnancy but it only lasted 36 hours.  Although we didn't get out and we gave Nannie the bug (so sorry) we still enjoyed being together and making pizzas on the grill before I got sick.
